CAT ASSISTED SKI TOURING
The best way to chase early season powder.

CAT ACCESS, HUMAN POWER.
In the early season, Cat Assisted Ski Touring is the best way to experience the terrain at Mustang Powder. Our lodge is located at 1740m / 5700 ft, meaning that there is ample snow at the lodge and in the higher elevations above it. Our cat roads above the lodge are accessible very early in the season, allowing us to drop you off at the start of the day, heading straight into the alpine.
Our Cat Assisted Ski Touring dates are when strong skiers evolve into true backcountry riders. The Cat Assisted Touring experience blends the reach of snowcat access with the intention and skill-building of ski touring, creating a progression-focused program set deep in British Columbia’s legendary Monashee Mountains.
This experience is aimed at advanced skiers, but does not require previous backcountry touring experience. You should feel comfortable in powder, variable snow, and steeper alpine environments, and be motivated to grow your skills in a setting that’s both supportive and adventurous. Our program is the perfect way to fall in love with touring. It’s everything you love about Mustang; the challenging terrain, the steep drops, and the remote backcountry lodge experience, but with a new twist.
BIG TERRAIN
Mustang’s snowcats open the door to vast alpine terrain, giving you a head start into remote zones that would otherwise take hours to reach. By saving energy on long approaches, you’re able to focus on meaningful climbs, technical terrain, and more quality descents throughout the day. Guests should be fit, and prepared for the uphill travel involved with a ski touring program, but our focus is on the overall experience, including the down, so this is not a training ground for skimo athletes. In early December, the option to tour gives our guests the best overall experience and access to terrain before the cats can reach certain zones for pickup and dropoff.

When the Snow’s On, We Ride
With our cat assisted ski touring dates, there is a big upside. We often experience massive storms in the early season, meaning that our conditions are ready to support something closer to a full cat skiing day. When we have the conditions, we can run a standard cat skiing program, meaning more laps and vertical than expected. Each cat will be given the opportunity to enjoy extra cat runs in lieu of touring, getting that added bonus at a significantly lower cost than our classic cat skiing program.
26/27 Available Dates
These dates are for groups of six to twelve skiers per cat, and replaces our Classic Cat Skiing program during the early season. Private Cats and full cat buyouts are available upon request.
