Mustang Powder
Quite simply, the Northern Monashee Mountains northwest of Revelstoke, British Columbia, are arguably the best place on the planet for quantity and quality of snow. Mustang normally gets significantly more snow than any of its competitors due to its location on the Western edge of the Monashees – the storms hit us first!
Please be aware that even in the regular cat skiing program our policy at Mustang Powder is to cater to the strong, keen skiers and snowboarders. You should be, at minimum, a very strong and fit intermediate skier or snowboarder.
All snowboarders and telemarkers MUST be confident riding and skiing in deep powder and confidently able to traverse across stretches of terrain. All skiers and riders must be comfortable in deep powder snow and should be very fit. Less skilled or less fit guests may be asked to sit out steeper runs or take rest breaks by riding down in the front of the snowcat with the driver so they don’t hold up the group.
Our Difference
Many Heli and Cat operations cater to the casual ski crowd who ski just a little each year – we do not. Mustang is not a good choice if you want a relaxed pace and like to continually stop and take photos. Mustang is for the hard-core skiers and snowboarders who are passionate about the sport and ski a lot each year.
Unlike heliskiing, we don’t usually track our daily vertical feet. However, on February 27, 2017, a group of 12 guests skied 30,145 vertical feet in just over 8 hours of cat skiing. Many groups ski 20,000+ vertical feet each day. We are not a normal cat-skiing operation.

We are now able to offer one of the best and most diversified fleets in the backcountry skiing industry. We offer everything from the most innovative skis on the market, to soft, easy-ride powder skis, to stiff skis for big high-speed turns and everything in between. To determine what skis work best, guests are encouraged to try out many different types of skis.
