We have longer ski days - between 8 and 8 1/2 hours per day and our lodge is located high up in the mountains where we ski. So we do not have a tedious morning commute to get to the terrain.......it is right out our back door. This year one of our groups in early February skiied 17 runs and 23,800 vertical feet in an 8 1/2 hour day!
We have a vast ski area and this means that we have enough terrain, so unlike many cat operators, we do not cut ski days short or 'farm' snow in order to save terrain. With 250 km.'s of snow roads and over 30,000 acres of terrain – we are a totally different species of cat operation.
We now have a fully developed and efficient snow road system that minimizes the driving and maximizes the skiing. A few years ago we purchased the ultimate cat skiing snowcat – the Pisten Bully 300. These snowcats have an extra heavy-duty suspension which allows us to travel faster than we previously could with the Bombardier or PB Edge cats that are rough at higher speeds.
Our snowcat passenger cab and ski rack design allow for smooth and efficient loading and unloading procedures. Typically our disembarks take 90 seconds – without anyone rushing. Lunches are eaten during the cat rides – so there are no interruptions in the ski program.
