Why Catski at Mustang Powder?

It is in the Monashee Mountains - unsurpassed for its quantity and quality of snow. Each year in the first week of December the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) runs an early season course at Mustang Powder because it is one of the few places that has sufficiently reliable snow that early in the winter.  Mt. Copeland, which is adjacent to Mustang Lodge, holds the Canadian record for the most annual snowfall.

Lots of Alpine - (great glades and tree skiing too). Typically we ski and board at the treeline and in the alpine more than half the time. On the clear sunny days you will likely find us dropping off at the top of the Mustang Glacier. We have many alpine peaks and ridge line drop-offs for great descents and fresh tracks each run.

Great Accommodation - Mustang Lodge is a spectacular structure. The magnificent timber frame construction is a work of art and the elevation is so high that we look across (not up) at the surrounding peaks and glaciers. In the morning we drop-off for our first run 5-10 minutes from the lodge. Our rooms are set up for two people with some single bedrooms also available. All of the guest bedrooms have private bathrooms.

Lots of terrain - 125 sq. km, one of the biggest snowcat skiing tenures in the world, so we rarely ask you to 'farm' the snow.

Gourmet food and friendly staff - each evening our skilled chefs prepare an exceptional four course gourmet dinner. We use premium local ingredients like wild BC salmon and organically raised lamb and bison. To complement the cuisine, our fully licensed lodge serves a selection of award winning British Columbia wines. All of our baked goods are made daily on the mountain. Our friendly and professional staff make everyone feel right at home.

Full days of powder skiing - we even go on 'daylight saving time' in order to ensure about 8 hours of skiing each day.
